Succession Planning and Wills

Your trust is usually the best place to manage assets for the benefit of your family.  Trusts maximise flexibility and protect assets against claims.

If you have a business or farm, then structuring succession needs thoughtful consideration.  For example, wills must tie in with your family trust.

If you do not have significant investment issues, then estate planning issues are usually straightforward.

Even though recent changes to enduring powers of attorney have made the process more cumbersome and expensive, we encourage clients to have an enduring power of attorney.

Sometimes we have to judge mental capacity and that can be difficult.  Applying to the Court for orders to manage the affairs of an individual is costly and stressful.  Our experience and judgment will help avoid this.
